Furniture

  • This is a sit down bar made from maple.  The client's desire was for a dry bar which would not obstruct the view from the rest of the room.
  • This was the bar cabinetry installation before the granite tops were installed.  Note the curved front corner cabinet with lighting & adjustable glass shelving.
  • The bar features a sit down galley with wrap around cabinetry.
  • The granite counter tops have a lower shelf for drink mixing.
  • This bar and the kitchenette behind it was made from solid cherry & cherry veneer plywoods.  The bar top is solid butcher block cherry wit a solid cherry bar rail.
  • The bar features solid cherry corbels and replaceable cherry panels.
  • The kitchenette cabinetry features a wine cabinet, wine glass rack and cherry framed mirror.  The valance and small trim details are all cherry as well.
  • This oak entertainment center features adjustable shelves and 270 degree opening doors.

  • This is a base unit to a tall cabinet made from eucalyptus plywoods & solids.  It was part of a huge cabinet system that included solid eucalyptus countertops, bookcases, and credenzas.
  • This mobile kitchen island is made from solid cherry.  It was designed around the leftover piece of stone countertop removed for the kitchen's sink.  The countertop was inlaid into a cherry frame.

  • This serving buffet features an integral wine rack and wine glass slot.  It also has adjustable shelves behind one door, and drawers behind the other door.
  • This solid oak entertainment credenza was designed in the spirit of the arts & crafts era.  It features an inlaid tile top which is removable to allow easy access to component wiring just below.  It also has 9 drawers on full extension ball slides.  The drawers are sized to store CDs, DVDs and/or VHS tapes.
  • This work center was designed as a sewing center, but also doubles as a computer work station with an adjustable-tilt keyboard area.
  • This cabinet is a cash register stand  with multiple fixed cubbies to hold paperwork, forms & supplies on the back side.

  • This is a close-up of a two-sided sign made for one of our lumber suppliers.  We built two of these signs.  They are made from white oak and have been engraved by hand by routing.
  • This white oak sign has hand engraved letters and artwork.

Millwork

  • This arched-top door is mortise & tenon construction.  The lower panels are removable and can be replaced by screen inserts to allow more airflow & light entry.  The door is made from thermally modified poplar, making it highly resistant to decay & insect damage.
  • These cherry doors open to a walk-in closet.  There are 6 door panels set up in a custom designed triple bypass arrangement allowing maximum access to the closet.
  • These oak glass doors were custom made to fit the openings of two hutch units in the lobby of a local winery.  The doors are lockable to secure the winery's artifacts.
  • This large garage entry door was fabricated using mortise & tenon construction.  The door frame was slightly irregular, so final fitting had to be done on site during installation.
  • The client for this job requested doors to be installed on open bookcases to reduce the visual clutter in the room.  These doors were custom made & fit for the application.

  • We modified this client's door by removing the raised panel and adding an etched glass sheet in its place.  We designed and etched the glass to match elements of the client's china pattern.
  • This mantel was designed to wrap a new gas fireplace.  The mantel was designed to fit the room's proportions and decor.  The mantel was painted & expertly installed by local contractor Ken Ripley.
  • This cherry mantel shelf and corresponding mirror were designed to add interest to an otherwise plain stone wall surrounding a fireplace.
  • In this application, fluted columns were added below an existing mantel shelf to complete the mantel and make the fireplace look less
  • This mantel shelf and the surrounding cabinetry & millwork were designed, built & installed in the great room of the client's home.  The stone work was completed after this photo was taken.  The cabinetry is lighted and wired for an entertainment system connected to the large LCD display over the fire box.

  • This resin-based trim was installed throughout a bathroom along all the edges of the stone counter system.
  • This is one of two cherry valances installed over windows in the client's bedroom.
  • This valance covers the mechanism for an electrically retractable blind system in a local church.

Refinishing

  • This was a complete refinish of an old gate leg table.
  • This was a complete restoration of a 1920 treadle style Singer sewing machine.  The original finish was stripped and replaced with a modern urethane finish.
  • This scalloped edge table was completely stripped and refinished.
  • This antique dresser was completely sand stripped, repaired & refinished.
  • This night stand was completely sand stripped & refinished.
  • This pie crust table had damaged edging which was repaired prior to sand stripping & refinishing.
  • This is a close up view of a restored curio cabinet.  The top edge's veneer was all chipped & broken and had to be replaced.  Quarter-sawn white oak veneer was used to match the original look of the piece.

  • This antique desk was sand stripped & refinished.  The original leather top could not be saved and was completely replaced with this birch framed-panel top.
  • This glider rocking chair was completely sand stripped and finished to match other maple furniture in the client's home.

Components

  • These hardwood buttons are used to secure purse flaps, and are available in a variety of shapes & sizes.
  • This mission style mantle clock is available in oak with a variety of finish colors.
  • These art deco clocks are available using a variety of exotic hardwoods.  This example uses zebrawood, hard maple, bubinga & curly red oak.
  • This large altar cross is made from hardwood with a satin finish.
  • This maple rocking horse is designed for use by a small child.  It is supplied unfinished so it can be painted & decorated by the client.  See Horse2 for a completed version of the rocking horse.
  • Here is a completed version of the rocking horse.  The artwork was done by expert craftsperson Joanne Mitchell of Ovid, NY.
  • This lighthouse was designed after the famous Cape Henry lighthouse.  It is an approximate scale model, but the vertical scale is compressed to give it more stability.  The light is supplied by an LED solar lamp.
  • These are wooden handles for carpetbag style purses or totes.  They are available in red oak or ash.
